Pros
This Company has been very good to me and the other employees that I work with, although there are always some people that will never be happy no matter how good you treat them. Covestro has a compensation package that is very competitive in the chemical industry. The management style is one that tries to generate a feeling of family and not one that has a feeling of adversity.
Cons
During my time at this company, management has become focused on “inclusiveness” and away from personal performance. Also, management has continually moved into a manager centric attitude that has reduced the number of jobs for employees without degrees. This has led to the loss of many experienced and high performing employees who feel under-appreciated and have no way to advance without going to college. In my experience most of the very worst performers in production have degrees and they are either incompetent or just plain lazy. We have also moved to self directed teams with a team leader with no authority but increased responsibility which doesn’t appear to be effective.
