Pros

Interesting work that cannot be performed, legally, anywhere else in the US. Decent work/life balance.

Cons

Crane Co. recently acquired Crane Currency. Still feeling out the new corporate relationships, but the new benefits are not anywhere near as good as what was on offer previously. Previously offered low deductible PPO health plan option, now only high deductible HSA plans available. Previously had full vesting of 401(k) contributions immediately, now 401(k) vests over 5 year period. New bonus structure unclear, but no Employee Stock Purchase Program nor stock grants to rank-and-file employees now that we are part of a publicly traded company. For those outside the executive team, the acquisition was one big paycut.

Pros

The people in Nashua are great to work with and everyone really cares about making a fantastic product. The culture of safety and quality are outstanding. Those that I worked with at other sites were all well versed in their areas and most people generally wanted to help move improvements and the business forward.

Cons

Upper management within Crane Currency is fractured and doesn't provide clear direction or priorities. Several vice presidents will have initiatives they are driving, requiring work by the same group of people at the site without planning for the resourcing required or adjusting timelines.
