Pros

Working with infants 3-18 months old and seeing measurable change on a weekly basis. Becoming an expert in the recognition and treatment of plagiocephaly and Torticollis. Getting to work with a customized orthotic device and our 3D imaging system. Very collaborative team environment. Good opportunities for growth and mentorship of new clinicians. Thorough training process with lots of support and mentorship. Potential to travel to other clinics for coverage. Good benefits and hours. No weekends, major holidays and minimal paperwork.

Cons

I think the cons are similar to what you would experience in any outpatient therapy setting. There will always be late patients that need to be slotted back into the day and patients that require extra time and attention. I think this comes with the territory when you are a therapist working in this kind of setting and it's something that you learn to balance. We are lucky in the office is a real team environment and the other therapists back each other to help. The other con is you are leaving traditional therapy behind so this job isn't for everyone. We really are working with the DOC Band and providing education on Torticollis but we are not performing traditional therapy sessions.
