Pros

Great place to use and learn about automation technology. The teams try to be at the same page with most media technology out there. Some teams are great to work in. Lots of young new faces came recently to the company. Some new amenities and growing base for employee activities. Company discounts for a lot of places. Discount for home automation equipment for employees.

Cons

Company changed a lot over the years, especially when the owner, who created the company died. A lot of teams got merged, others got completely transformed, larger management hierarchy has been created and the corporate policies started to take shape, alienating the people from each other and from the company. Company benefits are no longer seem like a benefit, rather than covering the basic needs for health and dental insurance and recently, because of loss of revenue, and screwing up the processes, being in place for a long time, the productivity of the people dropped and everybody started fearing for their jobs. Recently I have notices a lot of long faces and I was one of them. People, spending long years in the company are not happy anymore and some of them are dreading to go to work. In fact some people just left without even having a lined up job.

Pros

Relaxed. Management understands traditional AV industry is saturated and is trying hard to pivot the company into new direction. Whether it will work or not is to be seen.

Cons

This place really needs to re-evaluate how they hire and retain engineers. Across all disciplines, there are many senior level engineers who have no idea what they are doing. Some lack such basic engineering skills and knowledge which makes one wonder if they had proper higher level education or lied about their past career experiences on their resume. Most of them are genuinely nice people, but they are really dragging down productivity.
