Pros
Used to be an innovative, engineering-centric, company.
Cons
Focus is on "getting it out the door" with little or no regard to quality. In-depth requirements and design discussion have devolved into poker planning sessions that trivializes the entire process. Hiring surge is (somewhat) true, but relevant experience and expertise do not matter. Mid-to-upper level positions are populated by personnel that have no experience with the environment or technology. There's a good good deal of nepotism and favoritism (i.e. it's not what you know; it's who you know). Management is top-heavy and there are few resources to do the actual work. Middle management merely rubber stamps the insanity that originates from the top. Everything is a priority and the work needs to be delivered yesterday. Product development is driven by a reactionary rather proactive process, and quality suffers as a result. There is little or no support structure in place, and the onus falls to developer teams to address a variety of issues. Long hours, nights, and weekends, are the norm rather than exception.
