Pros
-Pay is okay, $20 for a fast track/shift manager -People you work with can be pretty cool, fun to hang out with on slow days -Get to work outside and on your feet, basically always keeping busy so the shifts usually go by fast -Free car washes -Good management training program, very hands on. Good to take somewhere else
Cons
I don’t really know where to begin -As people have previously stated, it’s a sales job in a way. Always pitching people to go to the unlimited club, have campaigns where we have to slow down the unlimited customers and pressure them to upgrade, and they just changed the sales incentives so you make less money -$20 an hour is not enough for the amount of responsibility you have and how much you have to do pre or post work -As a manager, you are a mechanic. Even as a shift manager, you are expected to know how the wash works in and out. They also expect you to learn how to fix basically everything in the wash: motors, shocks, blowers…etc. You usually have to do this after a full 6-8 hour shift talking to customers and putting out fires all day. -Customers are incredibly rude. You will get cussed out at least 3 times a week…over a car wash. It sounds insane but people are really like that. -They made me cut my hair (male) because it was too long, even if I had a hat on. They made me put it in a pony tail. -Hours get cut all the time so you don’t make what you are signed off to make. I was on track to make $7,000 less due to hours being cut when we are slow. -You will have to shovel snow and get soaking wet in the winter. I have to shovel us out after the snow storm in 2026. There is so much more I want to say, but I have been here long enough. You will enjoy this job if you are a corporate shill. They have policies in place you will have to break in order to please the customer. It’s ridiculous! And they made benefits worse recently!
