Pros
If you want to work in Healthcare you will always have a job.
Cons
For being part of "Compass" it was disappointing. Having come from Sodexo it was like working for a mom and pop cleaning operation. An understaffed, poorly managed, lack of mentoring local operation, operated out of someone's basement. There were no clearly defined roles and upper management was always absent. Once the GM said he didn't want me doing "hands on work" but when I asked him for 5 of the missing positions out of a staff of 12, he said no, that's what you get paid to manage. I was there for 5 months and was never scheduled for formal training. Your PTO/sick days were not displayed on your pay stub only the GM had access to that., which means the newbies get ripped off because they don't have ready access to that information. After 5 months of being a Housekeeper/Ops Manager I put notice in. Your last paycheck isn't direct deposit and not knowing that I moved and the hard check was returned to them. When I established a forwarding address I thought they would mail it to me but they required a $35 fee. I left mid november and got paid end of Jan but only because I involved the Dept of Labor. The check was bigger than I expected but some PTO days were added so I would accept the check and not take further action against them. I just wanted to get paid for what I worked and not have to pay to receive my last check like the Dept of Labor agreed with.
