Pros

In general, good people to work with. Every other Friday off (9/80 schedules). Management is _trying_ to implement policies to standardize project execution. This is a good thing.

Cons

It is no longer a 'we care for our people' company, it is now a 'we care for the $$ ' company regardless of stated company values. Pay is below average. Management does not keep their word. We had WFH and were told it wasn't changing. In April 2023, we were given 3 weeks notice to RTO 2 days a week. Facilities and IT were taken off guard. Workspace assignments were communicated late in the week prior to RTO. We needed to submit IT tickets to request equipment for our workspace. No one, not even front line help desk staff, was told what type of ticket was needed. An expected schedule still hasn't been provided. In addition, HR's RTO communications were condescending and insulting. There is limited access to technical resources. IEEE access was dropped. Engineering is limited to what is available on the internet for free. Management does not communicate. There has not been a company-wide town hall since 2022. Division all-hands might be quarterly.

Pros

My manager was awesome. Job was diverse and creativity was welcomed. Salary was pretty good, even if I was technically doing two types of positions. Co-workers were also good, some great, actually. Work life balance was also pretty good. All credit to that goes to my manager and the managers I've had before my last one.

Cons

In the end, my loyalty seemed to not be valued. My hard work showed and I met deadlines before the due date. Only called in sick when actually sick, and hardly took time off. The thing that bothered me the most was the way they laid me off. Group Teams video meeting, but the person giving us the news was not on video. Just a black screen, telling you that was your last day and that after that meeting your access will be cut off. And it was. I almost felt like an email would've been better than that black screen. That is really the only time I felt bad about the way things went. I know corporate life brings in the usual fiscal year layoffs, but it just felt wrong the way it was done, in my opinion.
