Pros

Good Salary, Some good co-workers, has Internship Program

Cons

Leadership has one and only one measurement for success/ career advancement: how much money can you make the board. And it took me along time to realize that my intentions and goals did not align with that. Cronyism is rampant and while it may be true that there is 30% diversity in Ethnic and Female hires, the number for promotions certainly isn't anywhere near that. Internal clients (Project Managers and other Leaders will throw you under the bus if a project goes wrong rather than properly communicate their needs/ issues). As they will not provide facts directly to you for debate nor confirm an understanding, they'd simply go to my manager directly to say they would rather not work with you. A 2024 Career Development handbook states on average, employees need 5 statements of positive reinforcement over 1 negative. Perhaps this will help them change for the better as effective leaders have not been cultivated.

Pros

Gained hands-on hardware and IT support experience. Some solid coworkers who were genuinely helpful and supportive.

Cons

Management felt rigid, low-trust, and inconsistent in how conduct was handled. Coworkers confided in me about troubling behavior from a manager — including repeatedly pressuring a female coworker to move in with him, and pressuring another coworker who was recovering from an accident-related disability to return to work early. Rather than facing consequences, that manager was promoted to a lead role a few months later. Separately, after raising a legitimate concern to HR about a coworker's conduct, I found myself under increased scrutiny shortly after, which felt retaliatory rather than performance-based. The hypocrisy was hard to ignore: employees who raise concerns get punished, while those who cause harm get promoted. The company is also being acquired (Leonard Green & Partners), adding further uncertainty.
