Pros

Competitive benefits for a healthcare company, but it is at the expense of your mental health…ironic isn’t it?

Cons

I usually hesitate to engage with overly negative reviews, as often times there are multiple perspectives to consider. However, in the case of this company's accounting department, the criticisms are unfortunately accurate. The organizational culture reflects the worst stereotypes of start-up environments, characterized by disorganization and indecisive leadership. To sum up, it’s the brightest red flag on the whole field. The team is unorganized, and leadership is wishy-washy. They survive off of temps because no one in their right mind would love having no work-life balance due to incompetent and cutthroat management. Leadership acts like they know what they’re doing, but they have absolutely no clue how to lead. The reason they want an insanely short month end close is they like to think they’re part of the “best” in the industry. At what expense, you might ask? The expense of their employees constantly working long overtime hours (unpaid if you’re salary employees, I might add) to make these unattainable deadlines that fail 99% of the time due to how ridiculous they are. Then they just shrug and say, “oh well, it was internally set anyway, but let’s do it all over again the next month!”. The amount of times I have had to work over 10 hours and even on weekends as if someone’s life is on the line if a reconciliation is not completed on time is alarming and frankly a joke. It’s no secret everyone on the team hates their jobs. You might love this role if you’re a raging workaholic, but I’m assuming you’re not and that’s why you’re reading this. So, for the sake of your own mental health, please stay far far away at all cost.

Pros

They do a great job at selling you the company. Every promise, every line they say make you think you are about to make a real difference not only for Members and Employers but also for the company itself. Well… you are very wrong.

Cons

This is by far the most unhealthy company I have ever worked for. For being a Health Insurance Company, outside of actually providing Insurance, there are no benefits to working here. You are micromanaged, penalized and harassed for having the audacity to want to use PTO, Bereavement, FMLA etc. and don’t you dare to question Policies and Procedures to which you absolutely have no access to by the way - whatever your Manager and HR tells you, goes. They hate to actually promote someone based on their actual work experience or work ethic, but more so promote friends and family regardless of if they are a good fit for the position. Don’t even bother trying to apply from within to change departments because, you as already an established employee, will be ghosted by your own employer. Depending on your position with the company, you also have absolutely no Work/Life balance. Truly, I think the only people that actually have this, are Senior Leadership and up since they seem to somehow always be OOO or leave early.
