Pros
Some rare amazing director-level leadership- people that truly care and don’t get caught up in politics.
Cons
CEO is a cost-obsessed bully who operates in an echo chamber of VPs that run around with their heads chopped off trying to do whatever he says Almost all senior director and above leadership has been with the company for 10-15+ yrs, which results in a very old school, hierarchal, “do what you’re told and be quiet” culture They acquire startups and then, despite having no understanding of or experience with their industries/products, slap Cvent processes on them, and then blame the acquisition company’s leadership when this fails On the topic of blaming others... I learned the term “hot potato culture” during a rant from a senior leader at Cvent, referring to the company’s culture of being so unmotivated that people spend all their time trying to toss work away from themselves and onto others
