Pros
Plenty of work to do and learn. Outstanding place if you are part of one of the family dynasties or part of their inner circle. If you want to job hop to get experience or a pay raise before moving on to another company this is a great temporary stop. They did recently expand vacation policy and added maternity leave. The volume of work you can see and look at will give more experience in a shorter time than other smaller builders/developers. The company will absolutely go the extra mile for some employees (are you one of the chosen?) in ways that I wish everyone could experience.
Cons
Nepotism runs amok at all levels of the organization. Positions will be created for kids of important people. Superintendents & sales agents are treated like cattle. Tons of corporate stupidity and bureaucracy that wastes ton of time. Culture is very top heavily, authoritarian with no desire for any information that isn't completely in line with what they want or have already decided. Much of the actual work is done by a small number of long term, hard working people. Company has not rewarded employees even though they've made record amounts of money for each of the last several years. Stingy with money and raises is an understatement. Very non-diverse workforce outside of sales agents. Some employees are clearly in a hostile work environment from a bullying/professional/harassment perspective (very inconsistent on who is or isn't).
