Pros
Active, healthy, friendly culture. Open floor plan and open kitchen with great sense of community. Some of the smartest + kindest people I've ever worked with. I never paid much mind to Glassdoor reviews, but I've noticed lately that all the dead weight that finally got cleaned out has clearly had nothing better to do with their time than write snarky reviews. So here I am to tell you it's really not that bad. Come work here! The good news is all those crummy people don't work here anymore. The rest of us are too busy changing the world to log onto Glassdoor hunting for jobs all day. What we're doing is really hard and the people I work with every day are so effing cool. Do we get frustrated? Of course. Do we struggle? Yup. Are we making something that matters? 100%. If you want to go build video games all day, this isn't the place for you. If you want to work in heavily bureaucratic offices where you can affect no change because how things are done are already set in stone, definitely not the right company. But if you can handle the responsibility of driving progress and momentum yourself without having to be told to do it, you'll be able to do so here. And I hope you do.
Cons
It's an emerging technology in a competitive marketplace. We're a little fish in a big pond and no matter how well we do, it is going to be make-or-break for a while. Welcome to a startup. We aren't Google, we aren't Facebook. But that's why it's fun. The tech scene can attract some less than stellar people, and we do our best to weed them out. Sometimes we fail and the entitlement comes rolling in. [See reviews below.]
