Pros

You get to work in sports, I guess Some genuinely friendly regular customers

Cons

Where to start? Management, at least at the store level, is questionable at best. Management takes advantage of hard work, uses weak reward system. I worked my butt off for 8 months, didn't miss a day, no tardies and was never given a hint of receiving a raise outside of "we'll consider getting you into a lead position" As much as management ignores hard work, they also ignore laziness. No ramifications for poor performance means that others who actually work have to do most everything in the store. Pay is crap for what you are putting up with on a daily basis. From the DM down, at least in my experience, was a lack of care for associates, a lack of willingness to actually work themselves, and just general indifference when it comes to their jobs. They made me feel unappreciated for working hard while rewarding fellow associates that showed up and sat on their phone half of a shift by ignoring their laziness.

Pros

- Unlimited PTO with 401k match is awesome

Cons

- Performance expectations were often unclear or inconsistently communicated, Feedback was reactive instead of timely and actionable. - Leadership quality varied dramatically by manager, with limited coaching or mentorship. - Constant shifting priorities without adjusting expectations or workload. - Psychological safety was lacking, Honest communication feel risky. - Leadership messaging around culture didn't match day-to-day reality. - Process was often valued more than impact or results. - Compensation well below market, w/little flexibility during negotiations. - I felt excluded from key conversations and opportunities that were important to my success.
