Pros

Excellent Pay Good end-of-year bonuses (usually) Profit sharing as part of your 401(k) contribution, over and above the typical match % Interesting and challenging projects where you can learn and get a great deal of experience

Cons

Upper management will never push back against difficult owners, leaving their field staff to bear the brunt of whatever issue they caved on. They say that they promote from within, however at the end of the day they won't hesitate to hire outside the company rather than promoting from within if they feel it's more advantageous to their bottom line. They proudly tout that their employees are more than just numbers and that employees can chart their own path through their Career Development program, however they will put their employees on projects and into positions that have nothing to do with what the employee wants from their career without a second thought if it benefits the organization (organization needs/wants trump employee career wants any and every day) Because they are a 'flat' organization and because each project is encouraged to operate however they feel is best for that project, they have very few standardized processes and procedures in place making every new project like your very first with the company. In addition, the few standardized processes they do have in place are cumbersome and difficult to learn (how many people need to beg you to switch to Procore before you finally do it?) Their pursuit of growth for the sake of growth has caused the culture to change in a detrimental way, which in turn has caused turnover of a lot of good folks.
