Pros

DPR has good benefits, regional offices provide activities for families, and the company takes care of its employees from a cultural perspective.

Cons

Pay is good but not great; the company leans on its culture as part of the package. There is no real growth for PM's or Sr. PM's in established offices. The hierarchy is determined by tenure and not capabilities. If you are a good PM they will not let you off the job site, and you will be placed on more and more difficult projects with lower and lower quality PEs. The regions are controlled by a few people who are not the BULs. Senior leadership cares more about soft issues and storytelling than instilling work ethic and teaching people how to be builders. We shouldn't have to convince people we're here to build great things, we should be able to show it. They also have a problem with older tenured employees who no longer want to "work" getting moved into people roles instead of asking them to leave. It's frustrating seeing someone with no responsibility making multiple times your salary that offers nothing tangible to the company. The change from when I first started to when I left was tangible, which was the cause of my leaving.
