Pros
Benefit package, lots of friends, exposure to a lot of different experiences where you thrive or die. Great place to work in any capacity not dealing with public.
Cons
Poor training, management sees staff as a tool to use and discard ("We can run a phone anywhere", "If you tell me our data says it takes 2 people and a week to do the job, I'm going to tell you to do the job yourself today. If you accomplish my expectations, 'I' have succeeded as a manager. if you don't hit my goal, then 'you' have a time management problem." Bend the rules until they break. Once they break, it's everybody covering their own arse. At the end of the day, DTE succeeds because they have no competition. There's no job development and they spit out bodies rapidly. They throw money and bodies at problems until a bigger problem occurs and money and staff go elsewhere. Nobody in management wants to be a problem solver because it requires admitting there are problems. At DTE it's all about appearances and little cliques. It's definitely who you know and who you blow.
