Pros

It's a paycheck that's above minimum wage The work experience can go on my resume Some people genuinely want to see you succeed Training was solid. Supervisors and the people who assist when needed were very helpful. Basic troubleshooting, no problem too difficult and assistance whenever needed.

Cons

The compensation is not upfront. You get a raise AFTER you complete training which is considered many months later when you complete your on-call NOT when you're out of "training" with the trainer. Terrible medical benefits, not enough realistic options for families. The deductible for the lowest Health Savings Plan (the only plan anyone could pay for at the compensation) was over $6,000 a year! Ridiculous! Pay rate is not comparable to similar jobs in IT. They make you work one weekend a month and when you do, you never get off on Monday (the busiest day) it's always a random Tuesday or Wednesday or you'll end up working 8-9 straight days. The schedule is put out one month at a time. Asking for time off is a joke. It's like they will not work with you no matter the situation. The accumulated sick time/vacation time does not provide a work/life balance Once management deems you as someone who will not be promoted, they will make it incredibly difficult for you. The new HR person makes it seems like there is a "witch hunt" and once they target someone, there's no hope.

Pros

My coworkers are great. We have each other's backs and work together well. I love my job and what I do. Have had the flexibility to work from home or come into the office as needed.

Cons

The people higher than the managers and the owners. Company has had good flexibility about work location for the past 6 years. Suddenly bought a new building so now arbitarily decided everyone has to come back to the office. It's all about control and butts in seats. Company can't afford to lose more people but I suspect they will over this bone-headed move.
