Ethical Concerns and Lack of Professional Autonomy - Social Worker DaVita Employee Review

Pros

Opportunity too work with Patient Population.

Cons

The management style at the clinic creates a difficult environment for licensed professionals. There is a significant lack of professional boundaries; for instance, administrative staff (AAs) openly discussed and critiqued other clinicians. More concerningly, the Facility Administrator (FA) frequently overstepped into clinical decision-making, such as enrolling patients in social work programs without consulting me and requesting "counseling" for patients simply because they voiced complaints about clinic operations.

Pros

Patient connections is rewarding work, great hands on experience, paid on the job training, training for PCTs is at least consistent.

Cons

12+ hour long hours, emotionally and physically taxing, unqualified management, poor communication, inconsistent scheduling, high turn over, very little amount of opportunity for movement within the company despite preaching that they encourage it. The culture and values are heavily spoken about with little to no enforcement. The position requires significant dedication to learn all the moving parts of the clinic.
