Pros

The culture the corporation is aiming for (village, not a company) is good in theory.

Cons

Very political. They hire based on who knows who, not who the best candidate is. Many people in leadership positions are uneducated and have simply 'gotten in' with the right people to get into their position. If you know someone who's high up in the company, you'll go far. Otherwise, you won't. Promotions are not based on who works hardest or who's most qualified. They are based on who's friends with the decision makers. It's unfortunate.

Pros

Stable company to work for with great benefits. DaVita offers tuition reimbursement, so it pays to go back to school and get a degree. They also help with career advancement and development.

Cons

If you are new to dialysis, it may take a while to reach a decent wage. You are required to work 12 hour shifts, mostly on your feet, and managers will always look to add to your workload.

Pros

Patient connections is rewarding work, great hands on experience, paid on the job training, training for PCTs is at least consistent.

Cons

12+ hour long hours, emotionally and physically taxing, unqualified management, poor communication, inconsistent scheduling, high turn over, very little amount of opportunity for movement within the company despite preaching that they encourage it. The culture and values are heavily spoken about with little to no enforcement. The position requires significant dedication to learn all the moving parts of the clinic.
