Pros
Literally ONLY having the emotional satisfaction of connecting with beautiful patients and helping them with resources.
Cons
Everything! Workload, tasks, communication, management, not feeling valued at work, never praised, you advocate for yourself & they disregard it, pay is good only if you have a healthy caseload, for ALL social workers and all we do pay should be at least over $100K/year, management treats workers unfairly, for something 1 person may do they’ll get fired but the same exact thing someone else does they will not get fired (clocking in and out anywhere outside of the facility), holding some to very high standards and others get to relax all day doing very little to no work and be paid more than you, management is very cold hearted especially when a patient expires/passes away. MSW’s do not receive hours towards clinical license. Also, lots of gossip and cattiness in the facility due primarily to the females.
