You get the opportunity to work with other first responders local fire departments and law enforcement agencies. You help people who are in a dangerous situation get to safety. Your work makes a difference in the community. Mitigating traffic congestion and assisting stranded motorists to safety.
Cons
The work is hard and you will not get extra time off. You will work in all weather hot, cold, rain, snow, and ice. The public is not always pleasant. You will get called names, cursed out, and yelled at.
