Pros
Production employees are great and there are some onsite employee events. Production and Technician Supervisors are great.
Cons
Degrees are highly valued, often more than demonstrated ability and experience. Despite solving cross-disciplinary and interdepartmental problems that had affected the plant for as long as a decade, employees may struggle to earn leadership’s respect without at least a four-year degree. Two year degrees and decades in applied science will not earn you a seat at the table.
The organization is also highly compartmentalized, to the point that departments often lack awareness of what others are doing. Support staff are expected to monitor multiple radio channels simultaneously, which frequently disrupts important communication within their own teams.
Obtaining engineering support for critical issues can be very difficult. Directors may listen to concerns and proposed solutions, but essential corrective actions are rarely implemented.
