Pros

Feels like family, and work doesn't feel like work. I can't imagine working anywhere else. Training is taken seriously and managers and coaches want you to succeed. Sales has a weekend off per month and a strong base salary which helps especially before backlog kicks in. Most managers are good at having fun "team building" events and no one takes themselves too seriously. Strong 401k match, good benefits, generous time off. No company is perfect, but ultimately, the leadership at the top wants to do the right thing. Access to leaders and executive management is not uncommon and Execs are not pretentious. Brand is important to DWH and management makes decisions to reinforce strong brand and stand by product. With company growth comes opportunity for some to advance.

Cons

Pay isn't as high as some others, but benefits are good. This is a performance driven job, so numbers matter as does customer satisfaction. This equals pressure- if you don't like pressure to perform and if you don't want to work weekends then don't go into new home sales! This is more about the job than the company. The interview process is long- again probably not a bad thing- just be prepared. Rapid growth leads to some growing pains.

Pros

amazing culture, and you're usually treated like a business owner thats not micromanaged. I got the job when I was in my early 20s, and they trusted me with alot and let me fail and learn. profit sharing is great when you get it, but recently the housing market has been horrible so nobody is getting it. My PM is great and he makes sure I know that he's on my side. Training is great too - they make sure everyone is ot only up to date on new building knowledge, but they constantly invest in our knowledge base so we are all performing at our best. Upper management is also amazing. they are not on their high horse and unapproachable, and they genuinely care about their team.

Cons

You've heard it a thousand times on this page. The pay sucks, at least when compared to other builders. I'm single with no big payments or dependants, so I'm fine for now. However, I've heard other builders with different companies getting paid literally twice as much as me even with my bonuses, and I'm one of the top builders in the city when it comes to build time. Your satisfaction level also depends on the PM you have - mine is great, but others are heavy micromanagers that don't let you do a thing without their approval. They also put a massive emphasis on surveys, and there is zero tolerance for even irrational buyers. They say "that's why our goal is 90%", but that mentality is unfortunately not put into practice.
