Pros

Salary is sometimes competitive to work at very challenging sites.

Cons

To many to list all, but 1. Leadership lies to clients, pointing fingers to the property staff - later to find records of leadership mistakes. 2. High turnover, shows either leadership can’t hire a good fit or leadership is unequipped to lead. Creating stressed out regional level management, which then rolls downhill. Ask in your interview how many regional managers left the company in the last 36 months and better how many are more than a year employed. 3. Company shrinking in size due to leadership again, clients leaving not happy with the chaos. Ask in interview how many property management contracts have ended in the past 24 months. 4. Unable and unwilling to pay vendors, leaving the property managers to fill the heat daily and unable to perform properly. Take a look at reviews of the Atlanta properties over the past 24 months. How many reviews state that the subject property is going downhill. This is because vendors want to be paid before working. 5. KPIs change very often leaving the property teams without bonuses. Ask how many times the KPIs have changed or get tweaked over the past 24 months. 6. Again chaotic, rollouts of new programs and implementations. These are a few cons, be prepared. Take a swim if you dare. 7. No culture in Atlanta. I can’t speak for Texas. Ask why the company isn’t connected and communication lacks. You have GA not able to close the doors for a 30 minute lunch meeting, but TX goes to theme parks. 8. In the state of disaster, heavy rains, floods, and ice over roads. Leadership weights until the 11th hour to tell staff to stay home and be safe. Employees are already on the road and leadership. Can’t make a decision to care for their employees. This happened multiple times during my tenure. Definitely a con in my book. 9. An employee on the regional level waited eight years for a promotion, and on the day received gave two weeks notice because another opportunity had been taken. A long-term property manager was promoted to district manager after a couple months the person demoted themselves cheerfully because of the chaos.
