Pros
While the pay/wages haven't always been competitive, this was compensated for by a decent pension plan and other benefits afforded to employees. Despite DeKalb's tarnished reputation, there are very dedicated and hard working employees - those in the trenches - who are sincerely committed to improving the reputation of the County.
Cons
The obvious is the highly publicized, pervasive corruption involving elected officials in the media. The not so obvious is the culture of corruption and network of cronyism, at almost every level of management, that has a systemic stronghold and needs to be purged - not just those at the top levels of management.
