Pros

- Great team - You'll enjoy this job if you like working with students - If you plan on staying in higher ed, this role will provide training and knowledge in a number of different areas within student services ( Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Admissions, Registrar, etc)

Cons

Oh man, where do I start? I liked what this role had the potential to be. Unfortunately, it continuously let me down. This role is draining...it's all about the NUMBERS and meeting metrics. The micromanagement makes your head hurt. You have to log everything you do...including bathroom breaks. You have weekly meetings to ensure that you have enough talk time on the phones, that you're making enough outbound calls, blah blah blah. You are basically working in a call center and picking up the slack for every other department. I have since moved on to another position in another University. They have A WHOLE DEPARTMENT for ONE of my job responsibilities as an SSA. It's a toxic environment. The people are great but you cant tell everyone is burned out. Really sad to see.

Pros

DeVry Day was a wonderful example of our positive culture, meaningful work, and commitment to making a difference. Welcoming and congratulating graduates allowed me to celebrate their achievements firsthand and witness the impact of the support and resources DeVry provides throughout their educational journey. The event created a sense of community, recognition, and pride that reflected our dedication to student success. Seeing graduates and their families celebrate this milestone reinforced how our work contributes to helping students achieve their goals and create better futures for themselves

Cons

This event was nothing but spectacular!

Pros

Work from home, good benefits, paid time off & the pay.

Cons

They say it’s not a KPI based position but it is. They will not give commission because they say we should be in it for the students and not numbers but the position is solely based on numbers. This is not a warm, team friendly position. Even your team mates are in competition with you. You will work two Saturdays out of the month and sometimes even Sundays and they still won’t be satisfied with your work ethic.
