Pros
Good work life balance. Local metro staff usually great to work with. Decent benefits. That is really about it nothing else good to say.
Cons
Dealing with home office is a pain. Micro-management is the new thing. Constantly restructuring which results in good people being let go based on job titles only and not their performance. Compensation is roughly 20-30% lower than market average. No room for career advancement unless you move to Chicago on your own dime. There is no relocation assistance. Lack of communication and accountability for senior management. Seems all they really care about are keeping their high salaries and will lay off low end pay scale employees to do so. They claim to be advanced in technology but all curriculum is at least 5 years old. Absolutely no business continuity plans or disaster recovery in place that is current. Everything is at least 5 years old. Takes a month or more to get responses from senior leaders. Lots of questionable software purchases that make almost no sense which lead staff to wonder if these purchases are tied to a higher up knowing someone from that company and getting a bonus for it.
