Pros
Honestly, I was not going to leave a comment until I had a reason...Some of the benefits are great. For instance, they're looking to add a free resource to employees and their families for ease of access to mental help. I've learned a great deal from my co-workers; and most seem nice.
Cons
Today the CEO, Tom Monahan, shared his thoughts on this 'great book,' "God and Man At Yale" by William Buckley Jr. Our CEO went on to explain how he does not necessarily agree with him but his book is great and tried to compare the book to something modern like Kendrick Lamar's 'To Pimp A Butterfly. ' My issue with this is Buckley was a racist, segregationist, and homophobic. Sharing a book by someone who thought specific groups of people were less than is disheartening, demoralizing, and sad, to say the least; it even makes me more sad to think he figured this would (1) be ok to share during black history month (2) he may share similar views (regardless of him prefacing that he doesn't agree with everything). Other points I wanted to make is management does not communicate clear visions or goals. I do not feel supported by leadership when trying to implement new strategies. Lastly, I'm asked to work on things that are considered "just in case this information is asked to have..." Why work on projects that aren't being asked about? I'm being taken away from other duties that NEED to be changed completed to work on things that are considered "just in case."
