Pros
Working for a team that isn't co-located allows for us to really integrate with the people we are teaching. I really loved the people I worked with on base.
Cons
No pay raises despite going above and beyond. We know federal governments authorize a 3 to 4 percent pay increase to combat inflation but no contractors were given pay raises. The company underbid to get the contract but that meant the instructors were paid less than we were paid by the other company we worked for. That is really unfortunate because there are very few 1C5 instructors/SME's and it's such a small field of study that the pay should reflect it. More than that I was living in a area either a high cost of living that I often struggled to even make my bills with my pay I received.
