- Management wants the best people, but doesn't want to pay for them and then doesn't trust them to do their job.
- The roadmap changes every week so goals are never clear and stuff gets picked up and dropped on a whim
- It doesn't matter if you have consistently good performance reviews (had 4/5 consistently), there is no raise or promotion coming. They promise it, but when the time comes "there is no money for raises atm".
- Due to unreasonable deadlines every team cuts corners, and it is noticeable in the end product. Deliverect wants to do a bit of everything, so ends up with “scrappy excellence” aka mediocre products. Instead of focussing on a few key initiatives and executing them well. As someone who wants to deliver delight to the end-user, delivering a half baked products was enormously demotivating. The priority is to get money from the users and not to deliver the best experience in the industry, that users WANT to pay for.
- Some people seem to get away with a lot of questionable behavior. When this was raised to the people team (HR), nothing seemed to be done about it.
- C-level is go by “captains”, because we follow the analogy that Deliverect is a spaceship. But when I left it felt more like a sinking ship, with multiple captains giving orders on how to keep the ship from sinking. So employees just ends up being confused from who they need to follow orders and are either jumping ship or staying until it might be to late. Which I really hope doesn’t happen, because there are still some really talented and caring people working there. And the product has potential. The few people that dare to speak up are ignored, or get overruled.
