Pros

The benefits are indeed top notch and the amount of paid time off available does add up considerably (vacation, holidays, personal days, Christmas shutdown week). Salaries from the L-EMC side tend to be 30% higher than same-titled folks on the L-Dell side.

Cons

The company has become much too big and there is a tremendous disconnect between the executive leadership and the front line workers. Middle management comes from two legacy organizations who are as different as can be. Legacy Dell focuses on how to cut costs. Legacy EMC focuses on their own old ways and keeps the clique mentality alive. As a result, decisions are slow to be implemented and the level of politics has steadily increased. There are no career paths available! There is lots of mention about diversity and inclusion but that only applies to the lower levels of the company, once it gets into management, it is basically nonexistent. Also, there are recurring layoffs of senior resources whose salaries are considered too high (if you are L-EMC, then consider your days numbered unless you are low cost.)

Pros

They bring you food weekly to satisfy the awful pay, horrible team culture and constant rate card slashes.

Cons

24k base pay for Account EXECUTIVES, oracle and several other big tech companies pay SDRs 50k base pay. That would be fine usually if the commission payout was good…. We get 1.5% of computer sales IF the customer buys with you and not on Dell.com. Makes no sense… The culture if awful everyone is a huge slacker, nobody is held accountable for anything, working harder isn’t appreciated or noticed by upper management.
