Very nice product that delivers on its value proposition. Brilliant engineering team that is responsive to customer requests. Its enjoyable to see customer service actually delivering in an agile manner. Denodo is a small place with 90% decent and cooperative people. We will talk about the remaining 10% in a minute.
Cons
A marketing department that thinks it understand how to do sales. A management that believes a poorly defined process is a substitute for knowledgeable employees. Bureaucracy for the sake of doing Salesforce reports. Inexperienced management (people who have never managed another company or in another role) and are therefore to insecure to take up advice and handle suggestion sensibly. Even micromanagement is done poorly - a good micro manager would mentor their staff in detail - poor ones, like in Denodo, focus on formalism and criticize in detail. The company is walking into a wall in slow motion and with seeing eyes while, unable to steer away for fear of loosing sense of control.
