Pros
Incredible learning experience. Conferences available to attend. Central location for office. I enjoy supporting teachers and feeling purposeful by taking things off their plates. It’s great to see how so many different schools operate and have a high level view of the district.
Cons
The executive level leaders micromanage and create a very hostile, hierarchical structure. It is very much “you will do as I say” and if you question it, you’re wrong. A lot of the micromanaging work asked of employees is solely for the benefit of executive leaders and does not benefit children. These executive leaders are unkind and disrespectful- I feel like I’m fighting for my life when I interact with these folks. Teachers are openly disrespected.
