Pros

- Company culture is customer-focused. It builds real products that customers want. - The core technology is something that a company can be built on top of - No one is looking over your shoulder telling you what to do. No micromanagement - Chances are you will find yourself engaging in areas outside your expertise, which provides great opportunities to learn - Chances are you will get to work on some cool stuff - You interact with lots of talent across multiple engineering disciplines from mechanical and electrical to software and dev-ops. - Good medical/dental/vision benefits and unlimited PTO, (the caveat being that you have to make sure to actually use the PTO)

Cons

- More likely than not you are working above your pay level, and no bonus or incentive pay otherwise. You just have to hope that the stock options you get from your normal pay package are worth a lot some day. - You have to be vigilant about maintaining work/life balance and general sanity at work. There's always lots of work to do, and it's easy to get spread too thin or otherwise overworked. - There's not much organizational structure, and not much prioritization that happens at a high level. The majority of coordination happens at an individual level, so you have to communicate a lot to make sure you're prioritizing the right things and not duplicating work. - Parts of the company's dev tools and infrastructure feel fragmented and immature. Improvements are happening all the time, but it is currently still a work in progress.

Pros

- If you showcase talent, you will move up the company. No time-gated promotions like other companies. - Get to work on really interesting, disruptive technology. - You get to wear many hats and work on side projects that interest you. - Great meal service.

Cons

- Fully onsite positions, but there is a lack of facilities on-site. Long term a gym, more meeting rooms, better eating facilities would be better.

Pros

- Lots of opportunities for problem solving. - Great robotics platform to learn and develop (if you can get into the right work group). - Pay is decent for the industry. - Benefits are very generous.

Cons

- The environment is stressful (understandable for a startup) but hard work doesn’t feel rewarding or appreciated. Be ready to work a lot and not be recognized for it. - The team seems very reactive to problems instead of anticipating/scheduling for them, making the workload more stressful than necessary. - Teams are heavily segregated from each other making, communication of tasks and priorities difficult. - As a technician, I was rarely asked for help by the engineering staff for mechanical problem solving or design input (I have extensive experience in both). - Company culture is nonexistent. Company social events are few and far between, often feeling thrown together without much thought. Any suggestions for improving culture are snubbed or deprioritized. - Career growth plans are not taken seriously. Yearly reviews for compensation adjustments are promised by management but are not executed. - The CEO has great energy and optimism but lacks true leadership skills and is not inspiring. Those in top leadership positions who reasonably challenge the CEO are usually fired and replaced with more “agreeable” people.
