Pros

Casual Fridays and opportunity to travel. Some people care about the company. Tight knit group.

Cons

As stated in the prior review, this is a small company. Everyone knows everyone. I thought it would be a good thing, but quickly realized that for me it was a poor choice. They keep trying to grow, but have little practices put into place. Their sales manager lacks sales training and experience. There was no formalized training or mentorship program. The actual office space is not appealing. There is no break room, and Addison is not an ideal location for anything.

I'm sorry that things didn't work out for you at Dickson but I'm glad you found out that small companies aren't for you. Large companies offer structure and discipline that many people find comforting while small companies are much more entrepreneurial, which other people find exciting. Large companies are generally best for specialists who want to focus on one specific area while small companies are best for generalists who like to get involved in a lot of different things. At Dickson you learn about everything involved in running a business because you work directly with marketing, manufacturing, engineering and accounting. In your comment you suggested that we shouldn't ask anyone to do what hasn't been done before. That's the exact opposite of the way entrepreneurial companies work. We constantly ask people to try new things. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When they work it's great and when they don't we try something else. People who enjoy working at Dickson are people who thrive on change. Your comment about the break room puzzled me. We have a very large break room with a ping pong table that gets used throughout the day, mostly by our very competitive sales and marketing team members. Maybe we added that after you left. Again, I'm sorry that small company life isn't for you but I appreciate the feedback.
