DigiCert is making some of the same mistakes Symantec made and they don't listen to those who have been screaming it for years. Quality is falling at a steady rate but they are only interested in selling products that are not ready while hoping Sales and Validation/Support will just figure it out for them, and treating the Validation/Support department like they are not responsible for the success of the company.
I switched roles because of their excitement in reinvigorating the Sales department and was doing fairly well from what I’m told. I mean, I learned Apttus pretty well and not everyone can say the same. I’m not trying to make excuses, but only 6 months later they let me and dozens of others go with the lowest severance packages I’ve personally ever heard of, which they justify because it’s based on the low compensation plan that they also instituted, maybe for this potentiality. I had worked there for almost 10 years, and I dunno, it just feels insensitive.
They did not brainstorm with current management to find a plan that fits the nuances of the unique business. Unfortunately, other people's jobs were the wager. It has been painful watching them repeat Symatec's mistakes while neglecting Validation/Support and instituting changes that do not fit DigiCert's unique model IMO. Change can be great, but this was poorly planned IMO. Perhaps it is not surprising, considering some of the leaders' track records with other companies.
Have you been happy working there? Because you're not protected by waiting for them to fire you and offer you severance. At least I'm forced to find something fulfilling now.
