Pros
* Great pay and benefits, especially for those lucky enough have access to pre-IPO shares. * If you like writing go, this is the place for you. * Coworkers are all friendly, good people. * Management makes genuine efforts to continually improve. * Things overall tend to get better over time. * Super remote-friendly.
Cons
* Hard to feel motivated when opportunities to implement mildly interesting features are de-prioritized quarter-by-quarter in favor of admittedly more important and impactful initiatives. * Management pays lip service to work/life balance, but that's all it is. Be willing to sacrifice the life end of that spectrum and you will promote fast and get to work on interesting projects. * The team I am on has been understaffed for about two years now. The products we develop and support have too many users so we find ourselves thrashing endlessly between support, bug fixes, and feature development. * Nearly 100% of the company is full-time remote. I've been working here three years. The team I have been on that whole time has never had an offsite. Yes, blah blah blah pandemic. The entire team is vaccinated. In theory, we could conduct a team vote to see if everyone is comfortable with meeting in person. But the company isn't allowing it, primarily for cost-savings.
