Pros

If I wrote this a year ago, there would be some

Cons

Work Environment & Culture: -High pressure and poor work-life balance. -Burnout is normalized rather than addressed. -No consideration for workload capacity or realistic timelines. -Team culture deteriorated drastically: from positive to negative and unsafe. -Employees can’t speak up without retaliation. -Discrimination, racism, and lack of respect for multiculturalism are ignored. -Management openly makes fun of employees with others. -“Bad seeds” and cheaters are rewarded and promoted. Management & Leadership: -Leadership quality dropped significantly after early 2025 (previously strong in 2024). -Current management shows poor leadership, unrealistic expectations, gaslighting, bullying attitudes. -Lack of clear communication from leadership (decisions made without context). -“Tough conversations” are used as a cover to pressure employees into doing more, often outside their role. -Justifications for negative changes are framed as “keeping high standards.” -A lot of promises are made with no follow-through. Career & Development: -Little to no career development opportunities. -Career growth seems blocked in favor of rewarding the wrong people. Compensation: -Salary remains stagnant despite higher workload. -Compensation is not aligned with expectations or market value. Recognition & Fairness: -Hard work and results go unnoticed unless they fit management’s narrative. -Recognition seems biased or political, not merit-based. -Employees are treated unequally depending on favoritism.

Pros

The product is market-leading, and the space is genuinely interesting. There's no shortage of smart, capable people at Diligent. A lot of talented managers exist within the org who could do more if given the room.

Cons

Direction changes constantly — sometimes it feels quarter over quarter. The result is widespread burnout and an inability to execute. Senior leaders rarely push back on the CEO, which means teams absorb every strategic shift without warning or context. HR leadership prioritizes serving the executive team over the broader employee population. The HR team is stretched thin and operates more like a compliance function than a culture or development partner. (Turnover within HR leadership has been notable.) Pay is below market. The equity program is opaque, poorly managed, and functions more as a retention mechanism than a genuine benefit (with no clear path to liquidity). There's a meaningful gap between what the company says it stands for—especially around employee experience—and what it actually delivers internally.
