Pros
+ generous salary and benefits + legacy brand has moments of fun and uniqueness + product is solid and useful for millions + revenue is ok and not based on ads + committed to remote/hybrid work
Cons
- no clear vision, positioning, or strategy leading to total unraveling at every level - hiring FAANG people to lead then over-listening to their ideas as we don't have a shared strategy to inform key decisions - constant churn in management means good employees are totally unable to perform or have real impact, beyond 2 week increments - lay offs are poorly managed and total moral killers, plus the slow drip of people leaving quietly leads to a loss of trust - there is no desire to tackle these issues head on - if you raise them you are no longer a team player - too many "yes men" looking to make a quick buck at the cost of a beloved product
