Great part time job. You learn to work as a team in a fast paced environment and even if you are a hard worker, you learn to improve your efficiency and how to truly have a sense of urgency. Great for high school and college students.
Cons
Don’t go full time. Promises of achieving the dream don’t matter for 95% of employees. They micro manage you and there’s way too much workplace politics. They used to care about the customer, which was Mr. Halle’s way, but now it’s all about adding a new best practice to every waking moment of your day. All they care about now is numbers. Corporate doesn’t know how to take care of a customer face to face anymore. Incredibly stressful and underpaid. Companies that go overboard on calling themselves a “family” are the ones that will toss you aside at moments notice. Discount is no exception.
