Pros
The pros are a casual work environment with the guys and good comradery in and outside of working hours. If hands-on work and labor are your thing, you may like it. They promote from within, so everyone starts at the bottom; could be a good thing or a bad thing. Great 401k matching. Good benefits. Education reimbursement.
Cons
In my experience, my management cared more about meeting sales goals than they did investing in their potential full-timers, so I ended up literally busting my a** to prove how hard I could work. They promote from within, so starting from the beginning you will be a part-time employee working (probably) full-time hours. I ended up hurting my back after 4 years. It will turn into a sales job, so you really have to believe in the Discount Tire brand to be successful and for management to consider promoting you to full-time status. If you give them any reason to believe you don't like sales or don't believe in the brand, they will make it hard for you to be full-time status. Full-timers all work overtime. They do get paid overtime pay. Part-timers cannot work overtime even if they are willing.
