Pros
Plenty of work to do and good/helpful training for safety and practical things. Built some good coworker relationships. Good place to work ahort term if you want some automotive experience and are young and strong. Expect part time and possibly a full time position.
Cons
Definitely tough on the body. Wasn't in technican shape when I started. The shop manager was very negative and put me down and others around a lot. I had prior experience and even have a Bachelors degree in Automotive technology from Pitt State U, but I was not chosen to move into a full time position and had to leave because Discount Tire prefers to keep most of the tire techs on a part time pay, so that they dont have to pay benefits. I took this job because i needed one shortly before covid and I could not get full time. I definitely wanted to stay on to get full time but turned 25 and needed benefits and had to take another job that offer benefits and actually payed better! I made 14.80/hr.
