Pros
Reason #1 I stayed at my store as long as I did was the CUSTOMERS!!! I love them! As a store manager, at least there is a steady paycheck, as long as you work the required 48 hours per week. Room for advancement up until the store management position. They make sure they have "new" products shortly after hitting the market. Raising money for charities, the employee assistance program and the Literacy Foundation. Company growth is good as a whole, there are new stores popping up everywhere.
Cons
Regularly worked 60+ hours per week. Expectations are so high it's ridiculous! Management is forced to threaten employees with write-ups nearly every day. WAY too much paperwork. District managers are overworked and can't focus on small issues that managers aren't "allowed" to deal with. Constant negativity from upper management. I was working every week, one shift for 32 hours straight (no break more than 15 min) per DM. Bonuses are hard to reach. Severe micro-management!! There are so many changes every month its really hard to keep up. Obvious favoritism with certain managers. LOW SALARY!!! ($500 per week take home :p ) If you want to know how bad this company is...just walk into your nearest DG and talk to the employees. They will completely fill you in.
