I don't even know where to start. Everything about this "company"(and I use the term with hesitation) is horrendously abysmal. It cannot be taken seriously as a legitimate business or employer, and is operated more like a criminal enterprise. Stores are given a ludicrously small labor budget, so you will never have even close to the staffing that is needed to run a large retail store. Stores are inundated with huge truckloads of loose freight, delivered in cheap, unorganized fashion in the middle of the night, and there is absolutely no inventory control, so there will never be enough space to put all the stock and no employees to fill the shelves. You, and the scant few daytime stockers you have, will be expected to do this overnight receiving (there is no dedicated freight crew), so the next day there will be nobody there to process it all, and there will be tons of overloaded uboats and boxes stacked all over the store. Most of the time managers will be stuck at the register because there's usually only one minimum wage paid cashier and long lines of low life customers that only still shop at this disgustingly filthy store (There is no time or staff to clean) because they can survive on the cheap Chinese crap they sell and easily shoplift because there is no staff to watch the customers, and the cameras are only at the front end to make sure the staff doesn't steal anything. Regional and district managers will give you a long list of expectations and demands that will be impossible to fulfill with the few workers you have, and then blame it on you when it doesn't get done. You'll be forced to close then open repeatedly, and come to work at 5am when the store opens at 8am, just so they can squeeze a few more hours of hard labor out of you, so if you have a family or kids you may as well just kiss them goodbye. They will work you to death with zero appreciation for your efforts, until you finally find something better and run as fast as you can. This business is an inhumane, unintelligently run piece of crap. they rely on the fact that they spend no money on anything and believe that their business is untouchable because welfare victims will always need cheap crap. They don't care how the stores look, the filth and debris and hazardous working conditions are just fine with them. Somehow they continuously refuse to understand that by properly staffing their stores, they would create tidy, organized and attractive stores that would increase their sales volume tenfold. I personally know hoards of people that won't step foot in the place because it's a filthy dump. They could easily fix that, but never will. The people that run this company will never learn, and it just keeps getting worse. Please note that I am not entering the actual city of the store I work in, as I need my crappy paycheck until I can find something else.
