Pros
Good health insurance and benefits if you stay for three years. Quick career mobility to move up the chain.
Cons
Corporate office dictates micromanages investments at the transmission and energy production level. They froze hiring arbitrarily to cut costs where staffing is down 50% from what it was years ago leading to people burning out, leaving, or becoming toxic in the workplace. I spent more time as a project manager rescheduling and rebudgeting my projects for important maintenance and replacement of broken or End-of-Life assets than actually executing the project due to corporate wanting to squeeze more savings. I eventually felt like they were willing to throw away plant sustainability and long-term profits just to post a great quarterly earnings number for the stockholders.
