Pros

* Opportunity to learn: There's always opportunity to try new things, and take ownership of new projects * Values and mission-driven: The company is strongly driven by its mission ("economic empowerment") and 12 company values (including "1% better every day", "operate at the lowest level of detail", and "choose optimism and have a plan.") These help provide clarity in decision marketing, and help create a collaborate and innovative culture * Competitive salary: Pay seems consistent with other tech companies, though benefits are lacking, e.g., no 401k match

Cons

* Experiences vary per team: There's no one DoorDash experience. It is very different based on team and manager * Built-in chaos: When it comes to internal processes and chaos, "that's DoorDash" is a phrase used as an excuse, instead of fixing root problems. The positive side of this is that it creates a very nimble and dynamic org, but it's not for everyone

Pros

If you are considering working with this platform, be aware that the management model is built on deliberate ambiguity. The app and software are designed to keep you in a constant state of uncertainty regarding your performance metrics. There is no transparency regarding how jobs are assigned or how your work is actually evaluated. This appears to be a calculated strategy to keep workers chasing 'better status' without ever providing a clear path to achieve it. You will never know if you are truly meeting expectations because the system is intentionally opaque. Approach with caution if you value transparency and clear communication.

Cons

The supposed 'flexibility' of this role is actually a double-edged sword. While the platform advertises freedom, it functions as a lack of structure and support. Because the performance metrics are intentionally opaque, the 'independence' of the job feels more like isolation. You are left guessing if your efforts are actually valued or just another input in an algorithm that doesn't prioritize worker success.
