Pros

Duke University Hospital is a great hospital to work. You have many options for career development. Their benefits are good. You stay within patient/ratio. During the pandemic, I never felt unsafe. They provided enough PPE for us.

Cons

The pay is super low. Even after working there for almost six years, you make so little that you are forced to work night shift in order to get paid the differential.

Pros

I had a great supervisor and a great manager James and Kelly are the best! Also, the other team members for or for the most part great to work with and very supportive. I did enjoy the team atmosphere a great deal.

Cons

Upper management sucks they micromanage and won’t allow those who they manage over and they’re supervisors to make their own decisions regarding their employees. The production standards along with the chart difficulty are mismatched. I would be surprised if they were able to retain any really good coders because the salary is not competitive and upper management makes the culture there very very weary and tedious.
