I've worked at many NC community colleges and Durham Tech is by far my favorite: great colleagues, great students, decent available technology,
Cons
The state budget, increased course load, pay, benefits, no opportunity for advancement. This position is no different than any other teaching position with the state. The pay is fine if it a second income in your home, but it's difficult to make ends meet when it's the sole income.
