Pros

Colleagues and teammates were mostly great, and everyone suffering in the trenches together definitely forces a sense of community.

Cons

Dynata has become a shell of the former glory that both RN and SSI had - both companies certainly had their own issues, but they weren't complete disasters. After the merger, along with the additional M&A after that big one, everything went down hill with a blazing speed. Not only will you legitimately NEVER have a chance to get a real promotion, you'll have to fight at every turn to even get a 1-2% raise each year, regardless of your actual performance (don't worry, they essentially force managers to give low ratings since in their minds, if you are rated a 5 out of 5 on anything, you should be the CEO, and you're not, so you must be inferior and in need of a mediocre review). Pouring actual blood, sweat, and tears into a job where you're overworked and vastly underpaid will get you absolutely nowhere. They'll also swear that they do research into market value salaries, but it's complete poppycock - we all know tons of people at other companies in the industry, doing the same exact job with less stress and 20-30% higher salaries, at a minimum. Not only that, but if you do somehow manage to scrape your way to a halfway decent salary after about a decade (and you're not one of the "favorites"), you'll just be stripped of any responsibility and well-performing accounts you had, and then laid off since you make too much money and no longer "contribute" anything of value. Don't even think about counting on bonuses - they'll find any way in the world to not pay you what you're owed (and don't expect to understand how bonuses are even calculated - there's no reasonable formula, and it's up to discretion anyway). Upper management is so incredibly out of touch it's laughable. All of the supposed work they do to communicate with the lowly peons is pure lip service, they couldn't care less about the people that actually DO the work. The perfect example is the CEO giving a post-layoff speech from his own personal wine cellar - talk about not reading the room. The newly adopted "less restrictive" non-compete is also infuriating, given that they spent the last decade ensuring that no one could go to ANY company that did ANYTHING they did (given that they are a completely full-service company in the industry, it means people would have to leave the industry if they wanted to get away - something that is completely not feasible for most people to just drop everything and start at the bottom of another industry). Systems are a disaster and nobody is even willing to acknowledge the problems and find a way to fix them - they will forever stick bandaids over the issues and continue to let the sales folks run amuck and sell unicorn projects while leaving the project/account management teams to clean up the messes (while sales continues to make the highest compensations for putting everyone else in terrible positions). STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS DINOSAUR AS POSSIBLE - it will drain you of all your will to even function as a human being.

Dynata Response

First, thank you for your years of service with Dynata. We’re sorry that to hear your perception of Dynata as we truly do try to focus on and care about our employees and our culture. Most companies that go through large scale mergers often have changes in culture affording them the opportunity to create a new, and ideally, better one the represents the best of the combined entities. This is very important to Gary and his leadership team. It is one of the four strategic priorities for the year and something that we take very seriously. We built systems and processes to ensure we have a pay for performance culture and a systematic way to review, promote and reward team members. We were even able to pay our employees bonuses during the pandemic when many other companies couldn’t. With respect to our systems, we are aware that there are some challenges in utilizing the current systems and the Tech team is focus on trying to improve them. Unfortunately, this takes time. Again, we are sorry you have such negative sentiments about Dynata, but we’re glad you felt a sense of community with your colleagues, as they are the backbone of our organization. Thank you for the feedback and good luck in future endeavors.

Pros

flexable hours and reliiable pay for the hours you work. paid bi-weekly

Cons

you had a quota of calls you had to have daily and complete surveys. I could not make people answer their phones. i had to keep people on phone to complete surveys. some surveys would take 30mins! i could get completes. but i got cussed at and screamed at very regularly. i could still get a complete survey even being cussed at. but they kept making itarder with new quota requirements. it became a job that was way too stressful. hours dried up after presidential election. it wasnt very reliable on hours.

Pros

Peers are dedicated to each other and success of the team.

Cons

8+ presidents club winners have resigned in the last 12 months. North America sales leadership operates at a sales manager level and not a strategic thinker or executive leader. Comp plan is designed to hit 90-95% goal and not pay commissions.
